Preview: Tuttle Tigers vs. Classen SAS Comets
Tuttle has enjoyed a three-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will challenge The Classen SAS Comets at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Tuttle is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Classen SAS in Oklahoma (Tuttle is ranked 19th, while Classen SAS is ranked 157th).
Last Friday, in a tight match that could have gone either way, Tuttle made off with a 14-13 win over Newcastle.
Meanwhile, Classen SAS's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their sixth straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 36-6 loss at the hands of Harrah. The matchup was a close 7-6 at the break, but unfortunately for Classen SAS it sure didn't stay that way.
Classen SAS's loss came about despite a quality game from Elijah Green, who picked up 33 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Tuttle's victory was their fifth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 7-2. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 34.0 points per game. As for Classen SAS, their loss dropped their record down to 3-6.
Everything came up roses for Tuttle against Classen SAS in their previous matchup back in November of 2022 as the squad secured a 48-6 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Tuttle since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
