Softball Game Preview: Fairfield Mules vs. Hamilton County Foxes

The Fairfield Mules will take on the Hamilton County Foxes at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Fairfield is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.1 runs per game this season.

Fairfield is headed into Thursday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Wednesday. They lost 20-10 to Salem.

Kayden Wells was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-5 with two RBI and one double. Kenry Hutchcraft was another key player, scoring two runs while going 3-for-5.

Meanwhile, Hamilton County posted their closest win since March 27th on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Fairfield, sneaking past 6-5.

Colebie Miller spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and two unearned) runs on six hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Addison Kelley, who scored three runs while going 3-for-4. That's the most hits she has posted over her last 11 matches. The team also got some help courtesy of Tinlea Webb, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Hamilton County was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .379. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .323 or higher in seven consecutive games.

Fairfield's defeat dropped their record down to 6-8. As for Hamilton County, their victory bumped their record up to an identical 6-8.
