W.E.B. DuBois Academy came tearing into Thursday's match with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 12.8 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They were the clear victors by an 18-7 margin over the Valley Vikings. Considering the Lions have won six games by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

W.E.B. DuBois Academy's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-2. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 20.0 runs over those games. As for Valley, they now have a losing record of 4-5.

Looking ahead, W.E.B. DuBois Academy will take on Brown at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Bears have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.1 runs per game on average), something the Lions will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Valley, they will challenge Pleasure Ridge Park at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
