Recap: Vega Longhorns vs. Farwell Steers
If the Vega Longhorns were riding high off their 55-32 takedown of the Bovina Mustangs last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Vega was outmatched by Farwell at home and fell 81-35. Vega has not had much luck with Farwell recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Leading Farwell to victory were Isabella Jaime and Makylee Baldwin. Jaime went 7 for 9 from beyond the arc en route to 25 points and 2 assists, while Baldwin scored 19 points along with nine steals and five assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Jaime has scored all season. Landri Richey was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with eight rebounds and six assists.
Vega's defeat dropped their record down to 11-17. As for Farwell, the win was the tenth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 24-3.
Vega will be playing at home against Boys Ranch at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Farwell, they will head out on the road to take on Panhandle at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Panhandle is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
