Baldwin is 9-1 against Sandalwood since March of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Baldwin Indians will be playing in front of their home fans against the Sandalwood Saints at 7:00 p.m. Baldwin is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.9 runs per game this season.
Baldwin took a loss when they played away from home on Monday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They walked away with a 7-3 win over Paxon School For Advanced Studies. The victory continues a trend for the Indians in their matchups with the Golden Eagles: they've now won eight in a row.

Hayden Peebles spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on six hits and racked up 11 Ks. Those 11 strikeouts gave her a new career-high.
On the hitting side, Baldwin let Makaila Fry and Jazmine Ramos-Merced run wild. Fry scored two runs while going 2-for-4, while Ramos-Merced scored a run while going 2-for-3. Fry also hit a double, marking her first of the season.
Meanwhile, Sandalwood hadn't done well against Providence School recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Sandalwood came out on top against Providence School by a score of 5-2. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Saints.
Sandalwood also let their pitcher toss all seven innings and she was also dialed-in: Kelsie Salter gave up two runs (both of which were unearned) on five hits. What's more, Salter gave up only two walks, the fewest she's had since back in April of 2024.
At the plate, Izabella Marques was excellent, scoring two runs while going 3-for-4. Madison Seprish was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.
Baldwin's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-3. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Sandalwood, their victory bumped their record up to 2-4.
Sandalwood's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Baldwin hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .338. It's a different story for Sandalwood, though, as they've only averaged .214. Will they be able to contain Baldwin's hitters?
Baldwin took their win against Sandalwood in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 17-0. Does Baldwin have another victory up their sleeve, or will Sandalwood turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
