Basketball Recap: Wautoma Comes Up Short

Wautoma was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 21st straight defeat dating back to last season. They were outmatched by the Winneconne Wolves and fell 83-17. While losing is never fun, the Hornets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 441st, while the Wolves are ranked 35th).

Larissa Piechowski was Wautoma's leading scorer, having posted seven points.

Wautoma's loss dropped their record down to 0-20. As for Winneconne, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 18-2.

Wautoma didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, an 85-13 defeat against Wisconsin Dells on the 11th. Winneconne has also already played their next game (against Berlin), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
