Basketball Recap: DC International Gets the Win

Bard came into Wednesday's game looking for another win against DC International, but Kai Hegwood wouldn't allow it. The DC International Dragons came out on top in a nail-biter against the Bard Falcons on Wednesday, sneaking past 61-59 thanks in part to Hegwood, who went 9 of 11 on his way to 18 points and eight rebounds. He is also on a roll when it comes to blocks, as he's now posted two or more in the last six games he's played.

When it comes to explaining why Bard lost, don't look at Andre Wright. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 20 points and 14 boards. Another player making a difference was Kevin Phifer, who posted 13 points.

DC International's record is now 6-8. As for Bard, they now have a losing record at 4-5.

DC International will square off against Parkside at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. DC International is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 55.2 points per game this season. As for Bard, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 65-60 victory against Weequahic on the 2nd.
