Game recap: Elk Grove High School Football Team bests Davis

DAVIS, Calif. - Elk Grove (Calif.) took the final lead of the game on Saturday as Spencer Sheff ran for a touchdown with 10:00 left, bringing the team to victory over Davis (Calif.) 17-10.

The Thundering Herd led 10-7 at halftime, but the Blue Devils recaptured the lead on a field goal with 2:00 remaining in the third.

Davis' Thomas May played well. He kicked one extra point.

Sheff was the top performer for Elk Grove. The sophomore running back ran for one touchdown. He has now scored two touchdowns on the season.

DHS's lone touchdown came on an 18-yard punt return in the first quarter.



EG had given up an average of 14.0 points prior to the contest. The Blue Devils' 10 points were below their season average of 16.0 per game.

When the two teams played each other last season, the Thundering Herd came away with a 35-18 victory.
