Volleyball Game Preview: Grant Union Prospectors vs. Burns Hilanders

Grant Union hasn't had much luck against Burns recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Prospectors will square off against the Hilanders at 6:30 p.m.

Last Tuesday, Grant Union came up short against Irrigon and fell 3-1.

Meanwhile, Burns had already won ten in a row and they went ahead and made it 11 on Saturday. They blew past the Pioneers 3-0.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-6, 25-17, 25-6.

Grant Union better keep an eye on Bailey Temple. She was instrumental in Burns' win, getting 11 digs and two aces. Natalee Otley-Smith also deserves some recognition as she served her first aces of the season.

Burns was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 21 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in seven consecutive matches.

Burns' record now sits at 24-1. As for Grant Union, their loss dropped their record down to 7-9.

Grant Union suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to Burns in their previous matchup back in October of 2024. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Temple, who had 19 digs and five aces.
