Basketball Recap: Maysville Beats Worth County for Their Fifth Straight Win

Maysville came tearing into Thursday's contest with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 29 points), and they left with even more momentum. They were the clear victor by a 62-37 margin over the Worth County Tigers. Given the Wolverines' advantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 168th, while the Tigers are ranked 438th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Worth County's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Cole Ruby, who posted 16 points, and Caleb New, who put up eight points. Ruby's big performance that evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least 16 points.

Maysville's win bumped their record up to 19-6. As for Worth County, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-12 record this season.

Maysville wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 51-46 defeat against Winston on the 22nd. Worth County does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
