Volleyball Game Preview: Versailles Tigers vs. California Pintos

Versailles hasn't had much luck against California recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Tigers will challenge the Pintos at 7:00 p.m.

Versailles had taken Hallsville down for three straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Saturday. The Tigers took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Indians.

Meanwhile, California came into Monday's matchup having lost three straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They blew past Centralia 3-0 on Monday.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant California was: they took every set by at least 11 points. The match finished with set scores of 25-14, 25-14, 25-11.

California's win came from a few key players Versailles will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Amelia Motley, who had seven digs and four aces. That's the most aces she has posted since back in October of 2024.

California was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 15 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least nine aces in three consecutive matches.

California's record now sits at 19-8-4. As for Versailles, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-20-4.

Versailles might still be hurting after the 3-0 loss they got from California in their previous meeting back in September. Can the Tigers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
