Baseball Recap: King William Beats West Point for Their Seventh Straight Win

King William had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.2 runs) and they went ahead and made it seven on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 22-0 margin over the West Point Pointers. The Cavaliers' pitching crew has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a run in their last five games.

Not much got past Hunter Thorpe, who gave up just two hits and racked up 11 Ks to keep West Point off the board.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Daniel Burton, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. Timmy West was another key player, going a perfect 1-for-1 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: King William kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in April of 2024.

King William's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-3. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.3 runs over those games. As for West Point, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-11.

As for West Point, they are taking a road trip to face off against King & Queen Central at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Pointers are facing the Royal Tigers at the right time seeing as the Royal Tigers are stuck on a 12-game losing streak.
