Recap: Southeast Cyclones vs. Lingle-Fort Laramie Doggers
It was a good run, but the Southeast Cyclones unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-game winning streak on Thursday. They were dealt a 72-41 loss at the hands of Lingle-Fort Laramie. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss Southeast has suffered yet this season.
Despite the loss, Southeast still got an impressive performance from Ayden Desmond, who scored 14 points along with six rebounds and two steals. Cole Sauer was another key contributor, scoring two points along with two blocks.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Lingle-Fort Laramie to victory, but perhaps none more so than Brady Cook, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds. Cook has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last seven times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Ned Nelson, who scored 16 points along with six rebounds.
Southeast's defeat ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-3. As for Lingle-Fort Laramie, the victory was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-2.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Southeast won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Pine Bluffs at 6:00 p.m. on January 12th. Pine Bluffs has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. Lingle-Fort Laramie won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Niobrara County at 6:00 p.m. on January 12th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Wyoming (Niobrara County is ranked 18th, while Lingle-Fort Laramie is ranked ninth).
