Basketball Recap: Martensdale-St. Mary's Run of Five Straight Wins Now Over

After a string of five wins, Martensdale-St. Mary's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They took a 56-51 hit to the loss column at the hands of Southwest Valley. If the Blue Devils were looking for revenge after losing 63-46 to them when the teams met, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Martensdale-St. Mary's loss dropped their record down to 7-2. As for Southwest Valley, with the victory, they broke their five-game losing streak and moved their record to 4-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Martensdale-St. Mary's will venture away from home to square off against Central Decatur at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Central Decatur will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Martensdale-St. Mary's surely won't give up without a fight. As for Southwest Valley, they will take on Nodaway Valley at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Southwest Valley is facing Nodaway Valley at the right time seeing as Nodaway Valley is stuck on a seven-game losing streak.
