Baseball Game Preview: North Vikings vs. Buchtel Griffins

The North Vikings will venture away from home to take on the Buchtel Griffins at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: North has struggled recently with five defeats in a row, while Buchtel will arrive with four straight victories.

North fell victim to Ellet and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They came up short against the Orangement, falling 25-0.

While Buchtel didn't have the best season last year (they finished 0-9), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past East 14-13.

Buchtel's victory bumped their record up to 4-1. As for North, their loss dropped their record down to 0-3.

North beat Buchtel 5-1 when the teams last played back in April of 2025. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Vikings since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
