Baseball Game Preview: Donna North Chiefs vs. Pace Vikings

For the second straight game, Donna North will face off against Pace. The Chiefs will head out on the road to face off against the Vikings at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Donna North is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak.

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Donna North's offense. They lost 10-0 to Pace on Tuesday.

For Pace's part, Marcos Saldivar made a big impact no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out nine over six innings pitched. Saldivar was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two triples, three RBI, and one run. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Pace let Oliver Olvera and Nathan Horner run wild. Olvera scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3, while Horner scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-4. Olvera has become a key player for Pace: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 0-13 otherwise. Isaac Solis also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.

Pace was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .379. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive games.

Donna North's loss dropped their record down to 5-13. As for Pace, their win ended a 16-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-13.
