Softball Game Preview: Bryan Station Defenders vs. Scott County Cardinals

The Bryan Station Defenders will challenge the Scott County Cardinals at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Bryan Station 1.9, Scott County 1.7) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Scott County will be up against a hot Bryan Station squad: the team just extended their winning streak to four. The Defenders walked away with a 7-2 victory over Henry Clay on Monday.

Karsyn Rockvoan spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on four hits and racked up 16 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than 12 strikeouts in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Tiahna Bowman, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Adrienn Arcure, who went 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, while Scott County put up some runs on Monday, the same can't be said for Tates Creek. The Cardinals came out on top against the Commodores by a score of 3-0.

Bryan Station pushed their record up to 12-4 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. As for Scott County, their victory bumped their record up to 19-4.

Bryan Station beat Scott County 3-0 in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Will the Defenders repeat their success, or do the Cardinals have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
