Softball Game Preview: Northeast Early College Raiders vs. Eastside Early College Panthers

Northeast Early College hasn't had much luck against Eastside Early College recently, but that could start to change on Friday. Northeast Early College will welcome Eastside Early College at 7:00 p.m. Northeast Early College has given up an average of 18 runs per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Northeast Early College lost 32-5 to LBJ Austin last Saturday.

Meanwhile, Eastside Early College got themselves on the board against LBJ Austin on Tuesday, but LBJ Austin never followed suit. They blew past the Jaguars 15-0. Considering the Panthers have won four matches by more than 14 runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Evy Leon made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). Leon was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played.

In other batting news, Brianna Fisher was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs and one triple. Another player making a difference was Jenesis Perez, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

Eastside Early College always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .609. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Northeast Early College's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Eastside Early College, the win got them back to even at 4-4.

Northeast Early College might still be hurting after the 21-0 loss they got from Eastside Early College in their previous meeting back in February. Can Northeast Early College avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
