Basketball Recap: Independence Eagles vs. Richland Raiders
Independence was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a 52-44 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Richland Raiders.
Bailey Blair had an outrageously good game for Richland as she went 8 for 14 en route to 22 points plus five rebounds and two steals. Katelyn Bass was another key player, posting six points plus seven assists and five steals.
Independence's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Richland, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.
Independence has already played their next contest, a 64-28 defeat against Lincoln County on the 26th. As for Richland, they will head out to face off against Loretto at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
