Baseball Recap: Elizabeth Forward Snags Sixth Win in Last Seven Games

Elizabeth Forward proved they can win big last Tuesday (they won by 12) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Albert Gallatin Colonials 3-1. That's more bragging rights for the Warriors, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Cy Herchelroath made a splash no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out nine over seven innings pitched. He has been consistent: he hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI.

In other batting news, JB Crovak was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.

Elizabeth Forward is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-2 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.3 runs over those games. As for Albert Gallatin, their loss dropped their record down to 4-8-1.

Elizabeth Forward will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Colonials: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
