Football Game Preview: Sevier County Smoky Bears vs. Lincoln County Falcons + Official Tickets

The Sevier County Smoky Bears will take on the Lincoln County Falcons at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Sevier County sitting on five straight victories and Lincoln County on four.

Sevier County is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They claimed a resounding 42-7 win over Walker Valley. The Smoky Bears might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine matchups by 20 points or more this season.

Sevier County got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Cooper Newman out in front who threw for 272 yards and three touchdowns while completing 71.9% of his passes. Newman has been hot, having posted three or more passing touchdowns the last seven times he's played. Another receiver making a difference was Bryson Headrick, who picked up 109 receiving yards and a pair of TDs.

Sevier County didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off four passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Diego DeCoursey, Grady Clark, Zach Banks, and Parker Newman picked up one apiece. Another thorn in Walker Valley's side was Jaxson Perry, who picked up three sacks and made eight total tackles.

Meanwhile, it was close, but on Friday Lincoln County sidestepped Powell for a 39-37 win.

Sevier County's victory bumped their record up to 11-1. As for Lincoln County, their win bumped their record up to 10-2.
