Basketball Recap: Bo Hogan's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Oconee County over Cherokee Bluff

Oconee County lost against Cherokee Bluff back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Oconee County Warriors took a 64-51 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cherokee Bluff Bears. While losing is never fun, the Warriors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 255th, while the Bears are ranked 26th).

Oconee County's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Bo Hogan, who went 6 for 11 on his way to 15 points and seven boards. Hogan is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 45% in the last three games he's played. Mason Hall was another key player, going 5 of 11 en route to 11 points and five rebounds.

Oconee County has traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-15 record this season. As for Cherokee Bluff, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 15 of their last 17 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 21-3 record this season.

Oconee County didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 51-47 win against Monroe Area on the 7th. As for Cherokee Bluff, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 66-58 loss against Jefferson on the 7th.
