Baseball Recap: Springfield Comes Up Short

The home team had come away the winner the last five times Springfield and Eads had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Longhorns came up short against the Eagles on Friday, falling 18-2. The contest marked the Longhorns' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Springfield saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Gunner Mackey, who scored a run while going 2-for-2.

Springfield's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Eads, the win keeps they at an undefeated 6-0.

Looking ahead, Springfield will face off against Stanton County at 1:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Eads, they will host Wiley at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
