Volleyball Recap: St. John XXIII Takes a Loss

St. John XXIII came into their game on Friday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the Needville Bluejays, falling 3-0. The Lions were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bluejays apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in August of 2024.

The final score came out to 25-19, 25-16, 25-14.

St. John XXIII's defeat dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Needville, they pushed their record up to 14-2 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road.

St. John XXIII will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Fort Bend Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on September 2. As for Needville, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 2-0 defeat against Friendswood on the 23rd.
