Baseball Game Preview: New Site Royals vs. Strayhorn Mustangs

For the second straight game, New Site will face off against Strayhorn. The Royals will head out on the road to challenge the Mustangs at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (New Site has four straight victories, Strayhorn has five straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

New Site is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They never let Strayhorn get on the board and left with an 11-0 win. Considering the Royals have won 13 games by more than six runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Colton Trimble made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out nine over five innings pitched. He has been consistent: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three doubles and three RBI. Those three doubles gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Glen Ashton Jumper, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two doubles. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in March. Jayden Greene was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one double.

New Site always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .538. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Strayhorn only posted an OBP of .211.

Strayhorn's defeat dropped their record down to 9-15. As for New Site, their record now sits at 18-7.

Strayhorn's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: New Site hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .320.
