Soccer Game Preview: Metamora vs. Morton

The Metamora Redbirds will square off against the Morton Potters at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Metamora's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for three straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Last Thursday, Metamora came up short against Richwoods and fell 3-1. While losing is never fun, Metamora can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois soccer rankings (they are ranked 111th, while Richwoods are ranked 28th).

Meanwhile, Morton kept a clean sheet against Bloomington Central Catholic on Thursday. They blew past the Saints 8-0. Morton might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four matchups by three goals or more this season.

The win made it two in a row for Morton and bumps their season record up to 4-2. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 16 goals over those two contests. As for Metamora, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-4-1.
