Softball Game Preview: Liberty Patriots vs. Chief Sealth Seahawks

The Liberty Patriots will take on the Chief Sealth Seahawks at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Liberty's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They blew past Bothell 11-0. Considering the Patriots' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Avery Huh was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out 12 over five innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in March. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

In other batting news, Liberty got a massive performance out of Berlyn Crockett, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most RBI Crockett has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Isabella Rockey, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Liberty always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .531. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Bothell only posted an OBP of .125.

Meanwhile, Chief Sealth made easy work of Franklin on Thursday and carried off a 19-5 win. The Seahawks might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven games by 14 runs or more this season.

Chief Sealth has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 8-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 20.9 runs over those games. As for Liberty, their win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 10-9.
