Recap: West Point Warriors vs. Brewer Patriots
If the West Point Warriors were riding high off their 68-29 takedown of the Pennington Tigers on Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. West Point took a 55-49 hit to the loss column at the hands of Brewer. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as West Point came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 82nd, while Brewer is ranked 293rd).
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Brewer to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jackson Dunn, who scored 17 points along with nine rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Austyn Holmes, who scored 17 points.
West Point has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-4 record this season. As for Brewer, their win bumped their record up to 4-8.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. West Point will be home for the holidays to greet Lawrence County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Lawrence County focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 19 last Friday. Brewer will be home for the holidays to greet Randolph School at 8:00 p.m. on Friday.
