Softball Game Preview: Aberdeen Bulldogs vs. Mooreville Troopers

For the second straight game, Aberdeen will face off against Mooreville. The Bulldogs will be playing at home against the Troopers at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Aberdeen hasn't scored more than two runs for seven games straight, a trend the squad is eager to reverse.

Aberdeen fell victim to Mooreville and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They lost 13-0 to the Troopers.

For Mooreville's part, Ella Grace Mitchell made a big impact no matter where she played. She kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits over four innings pitched. Mitchell has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one triple and two RBI. That triple marked the first that she hit this season.

In other batting news, Mckenna Hutcherson was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-3. What's more, she posted two RBI, the most she's had since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Saylem Scruggs, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Mooreville was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .391. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Aberdeen's loss dropped their record down to 5-14. As for Mooreville, the win got them back to even at 7-7.
