Basketball Game Preview: Manual Rams vs. Champaign Central Maroons

The Manual Rams will head out to take on the Champaign Central Maroons at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. Manual is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.

On Thursday, Manual ended up a good deal behind Richwoods and lost 51-35.

Meanwhile, Champaign Central took a blow against MacArthur on Tuesday, falling 67-37. While losing is never fun, the Maroons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 329th, while the Generals are ranked 139th).

Khalia Williams was Champaign Central's leading scorer, having posted nine points. Alex Parastaran held things down on the boards with six rebounds. Grace Bandy took the lead distributing the ball, coming up with three assists.

Champaign Central's loss dropped their record down to 9-13. As for Manual, their defeat dropped their record down to 18-11.

Manual ended up a good deal behind Champaign Central when the teams last played back in December of 2023, losing 49-33. Can Manual avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
