Baseball Recap: Eagleville Eagles vs. Union City Golden Tornadoes
In what's become a running theme this season, Eagleville gave their fans yet another huge victory on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Union City Golden Tornadoes with a sharp 16-1 win. Winning may never get old, but Eagleville sure is getting used to it with their 14th in a row.
Brayden Baker made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out eight batters over 5.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit (and not a single walk). Baker has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't pitched less than five innings in seven consecutive pitching appearances. Baker was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with a triple and two RBI.
In other batting news, Brady Burns was incredible, going 3-for-4 with five RBI, two runs, and a triple. Another player making a difference was Brody McLemore, who scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.
Eagleville has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 23 of their last 24 games, which provided a nice bump to their 31-5 record this season. As for Union City, their defeat dropped their record down to 19-10.
