Baseball Game Preview: Durham School of the Arts Bulldogs vs. River Mill Jaguars

The Durham School of the Arts Bulldogs will take on the River Mill Jaguars at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Durham School of the Arts is headed into Wednesday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game two weeks ago. They came up short against Southern School of Energy and Sustainability, falling 11-1.

Durham School of the Arts saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Christopher Matuszewski, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases.

Meanwhile, Tuesday just wasn't the day for River Mill's offense. They lost 8-0 to Chatham Charter on Tuesday. Having soared to a lofty 13 runs in the game before, the Jaguars' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

River Mill dropped their record down to 7-4 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for Durham School of the Arts, they now have a losing record of 4-5.

The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Wednesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Durham School of the Arts has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.6 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like River Mill struggles in that department as they've been averaging 8.3 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
