It was a good run, but Moore Catholic unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-game winning streak on Thursday. They took a 7-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Monsignor Farrell Lions. The Mavericks were not able to make up for their defeat to the Lions from their previous meeting back in April of 2023.

JOHNNY FARERI was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he pitched five innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one walk in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, ANTHONY DIGEROLAMO made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of CAESER FIGUEROA, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Moore Catholic's loss dropped their record down to 15-7-1. As for Monsignor Farrell, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 7-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Moore Catholic will face off against New Dorp at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Monsignor Farrell, they will be playing at home against St. Joseph-by-the-Sea at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Vikings will roll in looking for their 12th straight win, something the Lions surely won't give up without a fight.
