Booker T. Washington sees their postseason come to a close

Recap: Booker T. Washington Golden Eagles vs. Montgomery Catholic Knights

The Booker T. Washington Golden Eagles and the Montgomery Catholic Knights squared off in some playoff action on Wednesday, but sadly the Booker T. Washington Golden Eagles had to settle for second. They had to suffer through a rough 72-33 loss at the hands of the Knights. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Booker T. Washington in their matchups with Montgomery Catholic: they've now lost six in a row.

When it comes to explaining why Booker T. Washington lost, one person who can't be blamed is KeAundra Tatum. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds. Tatum has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last 13 times she's played.

Montgomery Catholic was led to victory by Heaven Bailey and Hannah Smith. Bailey scored 17 points along with eight steals and seven assists, while Smith scored 25 points along with five rebounds and three blocks. That makes it three consecutive games in which Smith has scored at least a third of Montgomery Catholic's points. Joanna Marlow was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with seven rebounds and three steals.

Booker T. Washington's loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 11-10. As for Montgomery Catholic, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten matches, which provided a massive bump to their 14-11 record this season.
