Volleyball Recap: Marion Takes a Loss

Marion was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Chester Yellowjackets. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Wildcats of the 2-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

While Marion was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the first set. The final score came out to 25-23, 25-21.

Kaylin Wolfe paced Marion's offense, picking up six kills. Wolfe got some help from Addisyn Lenon and her six assists. Lenon was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Marion's loss dropped their record down to 14-16. As for Chester, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 19-10.

Marion didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-1 victory against Herrin on the 23rd. As for Chester, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 2-1 defeat against Carbondale on the 23rd.
