Football Recap: Mancos Comes Up Short

Mancos faced Norwood in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Bluejays had to suffer through a 40-6 loss at the hands of the Mavericks. The game marked the Bluejays' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Mancos didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Traycer White.

Mancos' defeat dropped their record down to 5-3. As for Norwood, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 6-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Mancos will take on Sargent at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Bluejays are facing the Farmers at the right time seeing as the Farmers are stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for Norwood, they will challenge Dolores at 7:00 p.m. on the 31st. The Bears' defense has only allowed 13.8 points per game this season, so the Mavericks' offense will have their work cut out for them.
