Basketball Recap: Escalon Skates Past Orestimba with Ease

There's no place like home for Escalon, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat the Orestimba Warriors 65-38. Given the Cougars' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 513th, while the Warriors are ranked 1066th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Escalon's victory bumped their record up to 13-9. As for Orestimba, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-15.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Escalon Cougars face off against the Sonora Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Orestimba has already played their next matchup (against Patterson), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
