Volleyball Game Preview: Palmetto Panthers vs. Reagan Bison

The Palmetto Panthers will be taking part in a tournament against the Reagan Bison at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. Palmetto will be strutting in after a win while Reagan will be coming in after a defeat.

Palmetto had to skate by with only a one-set margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the three-set drubbing they dealt TERRA Environmental on Thursday. The Panthers blew past TERRA Environmental 3-0. The Panthers haven't had any issues with TERRA Environmental recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

While Palmetto won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the first set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 25-13, 25-19.

Meanwhile, Reagan faced Columbus in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Wednesday. The Bison lost 3-0 to the Explorers. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Bison have suffered since April 24, 2024.

Reagan was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the second set very close. The final score came out to 25-10, 25-23, 25-21.

The win got Palmetto back to even at 9-9. As for Reagan, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-2.

Palmetto was able to grind out a solid victory over Reagan in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, winning 2-0. Do the Panthers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Bison turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
