Basketball Game Preview: Greene Central Rams vs. North Pitt Panthers

Greene Central has gone 10-0 against North Pitt recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Greene Central Rams will face off against the North Pitt Panthers at 7:30 p.m. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

Last Tuesday, Greene Central came up short against Beddingfield and fell 58-51. The loss was the Rams' first of the season.

Despite the defeat, Greene Central got top-tier performance from Dontrez Evans, who went 8 for 19 on his way to 21 points and six steals. The dominant performance gave Evans a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Mike Suggs, who posted five points in addition to five boards and four steals.

Meanwhile, North Pitt scored the most points they've had this season on Wednesday, but it wasn't enough. They took an 81-75 hit to the loss column at the hands of Eastern Wayne. The Panthers' loss continues a trend for the team, making it three in a row.

Greene Central will have to keep a close watch on Trakeyvion Pittman and Dontarius Roberson, a pair of players who had a big impact on North Pitt's prior game. Pittman went 8 of 13 on his way to 17 points and eight assists, while Roberson had 18 points and five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Ethan Wilson, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 11 boards.

North Pitt's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Greene Central, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.
