Softball Recap: Dedham Sets Scoring Season-High Against Holliston

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Dedham). They never let the Holliston Panthers get on the board and left with a 13-0 win on Wednesday. The victory continues a trend for the Marauders in their matchups with the Panthers: they've now won four in a row.

Mary Stronach was a major factor no matter where she played. She kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out nine over six innings pitched. Those nine strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-5 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Alaina Martin, who went 3-for-5 with three RBI, one triple, and one double. Nicole Andrews was another key player, going 2-for-5 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Dedham's win bumped their record up to 7-9-1. As for Holliston, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-12 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Dedham will head out to square off against Milton at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Holliston, they will venture away from home to challenge Bellingham at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
