Football Recap: Cross Comes Up Short

Cross extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to nine on Friday, dropping them down to 0-4. They were beaten by the Holly Hill Academy Raiders 52-18. On the bright side, the 18- point performance marked the Stingrays' highest-scoring contest to date.

As for Holly Hill Academy, the win keeps them at an undefeated 4-0. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 44.0 points this season.

Parker Kizer had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 363 yards and six touchdowns on only 15 carries. He also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, defending one pass and snagged an interception which he returned one-yard for a touchdown.

Looking ahead, Cross will venture away from home to challenge Palmetto Christian Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Holly Hill Academy, they will host Jefferson Davis Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Holly Hill Academy will need to watch out since Jefferson Davis Academy has now posted at least 31 points in their last three games.
