Volleyball Recap: Putnam County Comes Up Short

Fans were treated to a battle of the Panthers on Saturday. Putnam County fell 2-0 to East Moline United.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead East Moline United to victory, but perhaps none more so than Emily Stevens, who had eight kills and two blocks. Those eight kills gave Stevens a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Alaina Ketner, who had 12 digs and one assist.

Putnam County's loss dropped their record down to 6-8. As for East Moline United, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-6 record this season.

Coincidentally, Putnam County and East Moline United will both be playing Morris the next time they take the court. East Moline United will head out to face Morris at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, while Putnam County will play them later in the day, at 10:00 a.m.
