Game recap: Modesto Christian High School Football Team defeats Chowchilla

CHOWCHILLA, Calif. - the Crusaders scored 28 points in the third quarter to secure a big 50-0 victory over Chowchilla (Calif.) on Saturday.

Modesto Christian scored on a Zack Schott touchdown run, a touchdown pass by Anthony Brooks to Austin Deshields, a defensive touchdown and a touchdown run by Luke Andrew in the quarter.

After taking the lead on a safety in the first quarter, MC led 22-0 at the half.

The Modesto school grew its lead to 50 points entering the fourth quarter. The Crusaders scored four times in the third, including once on a Schott touchdown run.

The result came as a big surprise as the Redskins came in ranked No. 415 in the MaxPreps Freeman Rankings for California, while Modesto Christian was ranked No. 479.



Brooks stood out for MC in the win. The senior halfback. He has now scored three touchdowns on the season.

The victory was a step in the right direction for the Modesto school, which was coming off a 41-28 defeat at the hands of Cardinal Newman in its previous game.

Chowchilla (0-1) goes up against Hilmar in a non-conference game matchup next week, while Modesto Christian (1-1) locks horns with Calaveras also in a non-conference game.
