Football Game Preview: North Lincoln Knights vs. Foard Tigers

The North Lincoln Knights will take on the Foard Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. North Lincoln will aim to continue their four-game streak of scoring more points each contest than the last.

Having struggled with seven defeats in a row, North Lincoln turned things around against Bunker Hill on Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Bears, sneaking past 40-38. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Knights have posted since September 12, 2024.

Landen Agee continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 183 yards and three touchdowns. That's the most rushing touchdowns he has posted since back in August. The team also got some help courtesy of Danny Burns, who rushed for 67 yards and three TDs.

North Lincoln's run defense was locked in: Bunker Hill could only muster -1.5 yards per carry. The team can thank Jake Jacobs for the heroic effort on defense: he. The dominant display was nothing new: North Lincoln has now limited their opponent to fewer and fewer yards per carry in three consecutive matchups.

North Lincoln's defensive line didn't let Greyson Blair, get away unscathed either: they got into the backfield for five sacks. Angel Outlaw was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up two himself.

Meanwhile, Foard played a tough game on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They lost 35-14 to Newton-Conover. The Tigers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 21-0.

North Lincoln's victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-6 and their overall record up to 2-7. As for Foard, they dropped their record down to 3-6 with the loss, which was their fourth straight at home.

Everything came up roses for North Lincoln against Foard when the teams last played back in October of 2024, as the squad secured a 42-7 win. Will the Knights repeat their success, or do the Tigers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
