BASIS - Mesa on the road again on Wednesday and play against the Academy with Community Partners Lions at 7:30 p.m. on January 17th. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
BASIS - Mesa can now show off six landslide victories after their most recent match on Friday. They blew past New Way Learning Academy, posting a 64-26 victory on the road. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory BASIS - Mesa has posted since December 8, 2023.
BASIS - Mesa got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Joseph Frivaldo out in front who scored 27 points along with three steals. Frivaldo is absolutely dominating the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Cayden Plese, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 13 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Academy with Community Partners got the win against Harvest Prep Academy on Tuesday by a conclusive 63-37. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Academy with Community Partners.
BASIS - Mesa has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season. As for Academy with Community Partners, the win got them back to even at 3-3.
Everything came up roses for BASIS - Mesa against Academy with Community Partners when the teams last played two weeks ago as the squad secured a 56-21 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for BASIS - Mesa since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
