Preview: Kenesaw Blue Devils vs. Giltner Hornets
Kenesaw is 8-1 against Giltner since January of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. Having just played yesterday, the Kenesaw Blue Devils will head out on the road to face off against the Giltner Hornets at 7:30 p.m. on January 26th. The pair have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for Kenesaw and five for Giltner.
On Thursday, Kenesaw was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 48-42 to Deshler.
Despite their loss, Kenesaw saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Adam Denkert, who scored eight points, was perhaps the best of all. Another player making a difference was Jack Ryan, who scored ten points.
Meanwhile, Giltner was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Thursday as they fell 47-43 to Red Cloud.
Kenesaw dropped their record down to 6-8 with that defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for Giltner, their loss dropped their record down to 5-8.
Everything came up roses for Kenesaw against Giltner in their previous matchup back in January of 2023 as the team secured a 60-25 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Kenesaw since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
