Smithson Valley has gone a perfect 10-0 against Wagner recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Smithson Valley Rangers will head out on the road to challenge the Wagner Thunderbirds at 7:15 p.m. Wagner took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Smithson Valley, who comes in off a win.

Smithson Valley was handed a four-goal defeat in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Tuesday. They beat New Braunfels by a goal, winning 2-1.

Meanwhile, Wagner was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 14th straight loss. They came up short against Veterans Memorial, falling 6-2. Things were pretty much settled by the half as the Thunderbirds were already down 3-0.

Damian Martinez and Ian Del Rio scored both of Wagner's goals, which were season-firsts for both players.

Smithson Valley is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight games. That's provided a massive bump to their 8-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 21 goals over those eight contests. Wagner's defeat dropped their record down to 4-17.

Smithson Valley took their victory against Wagner when the teams last played back in February by a conclusive 6-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for Smithson Valley since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
