Basketball Recap: Grassfield Piles Up the Points Against Churchland

Grassfield entered their tilt with Churchland on Tuesday with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. They blew past the Churchland Truckers 59-4. The Grizzlies have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matches by 31 points or more this season.

Leading Grassfield to victory were Lauren Priester and Amaya Fisher. Priester went 6 of 12 on her way to 13 points and four steals, while Fisher posted nine points and three steals. Priester has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last 32 times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Alex Thompson, who had eight points and seven rebounds.

Grassfield's victory was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 10-1. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 26.5 points per game. As for Churchland, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-7 record this season.

Grassfield didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 64-32 win against Indian River on the 10th. As for Churchland, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 37-27 loss against Oscar Smith on the 9th.
