Basketball Recap: Lamar Drops Season-High Score on Banning Lewis Academy

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Lamar). They took their game on Saturday with ease, bagging a 67-18 victory over the Banning Lewis Academy Stallions. The Thunder have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine matchups by 22 points or more this season.

Lamar's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Chloe Weber, who went 10-for-16 en route to 23 points along with six rebounds and three steals. Weber has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. Brooklyn Robbins was another key player, dropping a double-double with 16 points and ten boards.

Lamar was working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their assist total in three consecutive contests.

Lamar has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 25.6 points over those games. As for Banning Lewis Academy, their loss was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 3-11.

Lamar didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 63-32 win against Rye on the 11th. As for Banning Lewis Academy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 55-26 defeat against Thomas MacLaren School on the 11th.
