Granada won against College Park last Thursday with four runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Saturday. The Granada Matadors walked away with a 4-1 victory over the Cardinal Newman Cardinals. The win was familiar territory for the Matadors, who have now won three contests in a row.

Jake Sekany looked comfortable as he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out six over four innings pitched.

On the hitting side, Adrian Zambrano was excellent, scoring a run while going 2-for-2. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (two). Estevan Duarte also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Granada's record now sits at 3-1. As for Cardinal Newman, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Looking ahead, Granada will head out to face off against De La Salle at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Cardinal Newman, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Cardinal Newman Cardinals duke it out with Ukiah Wildcats at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
